Being ignited by the Holy Spirit can mean different things to various people. For some, it might entail a potent, life-changing encounter with God’s presence in a profoundly intimate way. Others may experience a sense of being called or inspired to live a more faithful and obedient life or to serve God and others in a specific way.
At Metro, we look for the Holy Spirit to ignite us in the following ways:
- Regularly praying to seek God’s presence,
- Reading and studying the Bible and attempting to comprehend and put its principles into practice,
- Attending church services, social events, and service projects,
- Seeking other believers’ advice and assistance through small groups or mentorship relationships,
- Fasting to seek a closer relationship with God.
- Paying attention to the Holy Spirit’s nudges to positively change our lives.
In the end, pursuing a deeper relationship with God and conforming one’s life to his will is the goal of seeking to be ignited by the Holy Spirit.
